This tutorial is designed for RA professionals, epidemiologists, drug
safety professionals, medical affairs professionals, pharmacovigilance and
quality management professionals, and clinical affairs professionals. In this
interactive tutorial, the instructors will discuss practical issues in
designing and operating patient registries including: When a registry is an
appropriate approach to a requirement or research question; how to design and
plan patient registries to address different purposes; operational issues (site
recruitment, patient retention and data management); issues and implications of
secondary data use, HIPAA and Common Rule issues; and useful analytic
approaches.
